For those of you who don’t know what Geocaching is, this is for you. Geocaching is a phone app or website that you visit to find coordinates and clues to these little caches. Sometimes it is a box , sometimes it is a small tube or some sort of container. Inside the caches is a paper where you write your team name on the list. Some caches are big enough where you can take a small trinket and replace it with something you brought. I have brought marbles, tattoos, or rainbow loomed bracelets. The caches range in difficulty, some are easy and some aren’t. Geocaching around my neighborhood is quite fun to do with my parents or my friends. I ride my bike around the neighborhood and follow my mom’s phone with the geocaching app. Trust me, there are geocaches everywhere including your neighborhood.
Geocaches blend in very well with their surroundings so you have to look high and low to find them.
When you find a canister like this you know if it’s a geocache if it has a rolled up list inside.
The list in the Geocache is of all of the teams that have found the geocache, you write your name on the list, (if there is space) put a little trinket inside and put the cache away!
Geocaches can be hidden in rocks, shrubs, trees and many other places you wouldn’t expect! Now get out there and go Geocaching!
