The Latest Craze at School

Have you heard of a Kendama? A Kendama looks like this:

The object is to get the ball (which is attached to a string) into one of the many spots on the wooden handle.

Here is a fun fact! The Japanese word, Kendama means “sword ball”.

This new craze at school (at least where I go to school) is the new fangled fad similar to what  yo-yos used to be. ( at least that is what everyone tells me).  Kandamas can do some really cool tricks, some people even go to tournaments to compete with Kendamas! Kendama tricks have cool names such as “spike,”  “gunslinger” and “disco alien head”. You can also play Ken with your Kendama, Ken is a game where two people have a Kendama and take turns attempting tricks and if they accomplish a trick, the other player has to do that trick too.
